New Beta Update - 3.6.28.0

Thanks to the efforts of Deadcode and CyberShadow, we have a new update to play with. Download it from the menu on the left there.

Many many bug fixes in this one, including a few that should solve most peoples' minimising problems.

Some "de-restrictions" have been added such as support for bigger levels (most people knew this was coming ayway), up to 48 worms in a single game, and up to 250 hazard objects (mines/barrels).

You also now have the ability to host on a port other than 17011, for example if you play W:A on more than 1 PC on your local network you can set up port forwarding on your router so any of them can host on WormNET at the same time.

Also, BattyRope and TestStuff can now be activated by typing "/batty" or "/ts" respectively in the chat box before the game starts.

See the ReadMe for more info on changes.

Time for a little update here on our handsome web-site.

After a long bit of inactivity ChrisChi has rejoined the clan. Welcome back, mate! Not to mention he's already doing good deeds for the clan, which brings us to the next bit of news...

Dw33b joined SFX after a flawless poll on the forums and I have to say I'm really enthusiastic about it. Another BnG legend recruited, not to mention his splendid Canadian charm. Enjoy your stay!

Also SammyJ has made a few forum appearances in the past month and I'd like to officially wish him luck with his musical endeavours.

Lastly, we've all missed our CL2K forums a great deal, so I'm happy to announce they're back to stay now. Thank you Poo for going trough the trouble in spite of your private [elephnat] affairs and good luck to Kiros in bringing the leagues back.

I've just finished sorting and uploading a crap-load of maps for the map cart. Upon checking the numbers, there are 3681 .bit maps, but only 3662 .gif previews. If anyone spots any of the 19 maps that have no preview image, let me know.

It's not even been a couple of months since the last patch release, but Deadcode has released yet another!.

Mostly fixes so nothing too feature rich this time, but you can freeze the camera movement during your own turn, and it logs pixel glides! Now we just need it to call you "1337" during the game if you manage to pull one off ;).

Fully working map cart is now online. Could still do with some visual changes, but the functionality is there.

Enjoy, and Happy New Year :).

TonY gave me a load of Roper, RR, and Shopper maps so i knocked together a quick search-and-download page (check the left menu). I'll fix the obvious bug later when i have more time, what is there is literally an hours work.

The latest effort from Deadcode includes the new (well, old but not used) Tools terrain, online compatibility with v3.0 (/me dusts off his old silkworm patch), transparent name labels (!), and the usual plethora of bug fixes. Read the full list here, and download it from our left menu! NOW!

Good work once again, Deadcode.

Putting us back where we belong!

I registered www.clansfx.co.uk, and transferred the site across to some webspace kindly donated to us by r00t smile. Me and Lyriquid are planning on giving the site a bit of an overhaul this summer - fixing current content, adding new content, and maybe even making a brand spanking new map cart.

The new content will include (if i get the time) an in depth Battle Race tutorial, explaining all of the relavent technical points of the game such as the shape of the worm collision mask, how it interacts with the landscape, precise positioning of the worm, half-pixel rule, etc.

I'm also debating on whether to write a full BnG tutorial ;).

I also think we should get more active in the leagues, and show all these new clans what worming is all about - SFX Style. I'm sure i'll shock you all when i say this, but i'm going to start actively trying to play clan games myself after i've finished my university stuff.

We've got the website back where it once was in the height of SFX's days, now let's do the same to our clan!
